On May 5, 2006. He was the owner of ex-Alaska RR 2-8-0 557 and Canadian Sugar Factories 9, a Davenport 0-4-4T, plus had a large antique car collection at his Moses Lake, Washington property. The 557 was operable for a time into the 1970s.

I often pull off in Moses Lake while on vacation with my family as the city has a wonderful aquatic center which is perfect for kids on a long ride on a hot day in a minivan.

I always try to drive by the Monte Holm location. The locomotive (Alaska S-160?) 2-8-0 looks to be in excellent shape as the desert climate and almost non-existent humidity preserve things metal well. As the photos hint, there is a former SP&S (business?) car behind the tender. Does anyone know anything about this car?

I hope something good happens to all this stuff. So many similar collections have not fared well.
