I just wanted to thank EH for the brief, particularly the photographs. All dry discussions about what to run, when to run, economics, etc don't enter my mind at this point-this line has some beautiful scenery. This is one of those examples of what draws me to rail preservation. John D |

John - Glad you enjoyed the brief. The pictures I took were so focused on trackwork that I wasn't sure if the scenic beauty of the line was that apparent. It is even more impressive seeing it in person, and I hope one day the public can also share this experience by train! Ernie Hunt |

With some minor work, would the track be safe enough for public trips with motorcars and trailers? It would seem that getting the public involved with the unique experience of motorcar rides would be beneficial as soon as possible, to help fend off trail advocates who would prefer the rails gone. Also, has there been any attempt to utilize corrections department trustees in the brush removal? The latter was somewhat common on non-profit lines in the 1980s, but I have not heard much about it lately. It would seem that the trustees might continue the work during the week, under their own institution's supervision. |
