Hadn't seen this mentioned here, but Colorado & Southern 2-6-0 #9 is scheduled to make a press stop in Denver today on its way to Silver Plume, CO to join the roster of the Georgetown Loop line.

It has been a long time, but the dream of getting a "native" steamer on this line is about to come true.

Interesting day - the truck carrying 9 was held in downtown Denver on account of a funeral, which closed most of downtown, for a heroic fire fighter who lost his life shortly before retirement saving a child from a burning house.

9 arrived and was unloaded and coupled to its tender and shoved into the house over the pit by 3:30 PM.

Tomorrow I start my single allowed day of reassembly and debugging before Clear Creek County RR Days Saturday and Sunday.

Urich Locomotive Works has done a lot of work on her, but the extent of what remains to be done is unclear - we expect Marlon Urich to show up tomorrow (hopefully with missing parts in hand) and with luck will have a fire in her by late morning.
