Somedays, it pays to be persistent. I switched to thread view as someone suggested, and the Interchange is achingly slow, and here's why:

The threaded view is provided by a modification to phpBB called 'Moby Threads'. And when thread view is selected, the speed with which the Interchange loads is governed by the number of topics configured per page and the number of posts configured per page. If the number of topics per page is large (greater than 25 or so) dramatic slowdowns will occur as Moby Threads has to read the entire post for all topics on the page before it can display any of them. Since I don't have control over this setting, I'm guessing that Hume or David will have to make a change if this is a serious issue for people.

So to summarize: Moby Threads bad! Flat view good! At least if speed is your need.

Regards,
Doug

Thanks for in info Doug. I did notice the interchange being a little slower. Did you ever get a chance to look at the tug boat project?

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Matter of fact, yes. Email me again, and we'll discuss it. Or if you email me a phone # I'll be happy to chat with you about it.

I use thread view and I noticed it also. I thought it was my ISP and was fuming. You saved my sanity?
