Frisco 2-8-2 No. 1352 began life in 1912 as 2-8-0 No. 1321, built by Schenectady works.
During WWII, Frisco had need of some newer power on some of the lighter lines and rebuilt 7 of the 2-8-0s into mikes, the 1352's date being in June of 1944.
They received a new longer combustion chamber, Coffin FWH and a Delta trailing truck with Franklin booster engine. The tender capacity was increased and from all reports the engines did good work for the Frisco.
Viewed broadside, they had a somewhat ungaily look and the cylinders and admission pipes were offset to the rear from the center line of the stack.

A clarification:

The seven 1350 class Mikado's were rebuilt by the Frisco from 1306 class 2-8-0's for service on the SLSF's line between Amory, Mississippi and Pensacola, Florida where bridge restrictions had previously prohibited 2-8-2 types from being used. The first locomotive (#1350) rolled out of the railroads Springfield shops in August of 1943 and the last (#1356) in March of 1946. The 1356 was the "last" steam locomotive added to the Frisco's roster but, unfortunately, it was not preserved. However, two other 1350 class engines WERE saved besides the 1352; numbers 1351 and 1355.
