Looking for information about the "Thomas the Tank Engine" replica (?) that has been making the rounds. Haven't got to see it in person yet but have been impressed by the photos. My questions are; who owns it?, what was it originally?, anything else that is known. Just interested for curiosities sake. Thank you in advance for the information! rrtp@midwest.net |

The engine is a joint venture of the Strasburg Railroad, the company that owns the rights to "Thomas," the name of which escapes me at the moment. The engine was originally Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal Railway. I understand they are going to build three more standard gauge replicas, plus s 3 three foot gauge. Whether they are going to be built from the frames up, or converted from something else, I do not know. kevingillespie@usa.net |
