The whistle on No. 89 was actually No. 90's Great Western whistle.

The 31's whistle appears to be a Buckeye. If the fulcrum (the part that attaches the lever to the whistle) is cast integral to the body of the whistle then it certainly is a Buckeye. Buckeyes sound fairly odd whereas Crosby three chimes produce a pleasing blend of sounds.
