Where is UP 737?

Where is this 4-4-0, formerly at Steamtown NHS? Any ideas of current condition?

Last I heard it was on display at Feather River Railroad Museum in Portola on loan from the Nevada Railroad Museum. Ownership was transferred from Steamtown to the Nevada Railroad Museum serveral years ago at the beginning of Steamtown's recent collections rationalizations.

If it's owned by Nevada, why is it in Portola? It had something to do with one of those creative swaps of collections Portola is so good at--but I don't remember the details just now. Maybe Eugene Vicknair can fill in the blanks.

Someone else can answer the rest but the Pacific Locomotive Association sold Western Pacific #165 (0-6-0) to an agricultural museum in Turlock, CA after volunteers pulled it from the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. Portola then swung a deal to trade that museum the #737 in exchange for the #165 which, until this past February, remained on PLA property. I've never heard more of the Turlock museum and whether or not the #737 is on their property as of this time. FRRS had supplied flatcars for the movement of another PLA locomotive (ex-SP 1218) which were then used for the 165 and tender, picked up on the return to Portola following the GGRM hospital train which that organization handled.

Yes, the Union Pacific 737 is at the TTT Agricultural MAuseum in the Central Valley. They keep a low profile! No web site or much open hours.

The western Railway Museum sent them a Santa Fe baggage car after trying to find it a better home.

Thenengine is in poor condition with the smoke stack cup and the cab cut down. And I am told that the engine was well worn out before it arrived at Steamtown and it has been all down hill since then.

The one good thing I can say is that it is now indoors.

It's actually the Double-T Agricultural Museum in Stevinson, CA. Apparently their museum function is somewhat incidental to their business as an agricultural-themed venue for weddings and similar functions.
Although they do not have a web site, a Google search will show
several references to their activities.

I think that the owner's interpretive plan of having a passenger
train of equipment typical of what served the area in the past is
probably a lot better than an isolated locomotive in a city park.
