Greetings:

Today I am announcing several new dates that the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association will be operating our PRR B4a 0-6-0 643 for our engineer school program. These dates are firm as of today. The school will be offered on Saturday July 15th (with potential overflow on to Sunday the 16th if demand is high enough). The school will also operate on Saturday August 26th, and during the week from Wed August 30th until Friday September 1st (Monday and Tuesday of that week are also potential operation dates if demand is high enough). Charters for larger groups are potentially available on other dates, contact us for details. Other dates may be announced as the summer goes on, but these dates are what we have available for sure as of today.

Engineer School Details:

For $75 you will be taught the basics of operating a steam locomotive. You will then operate the locomotive for 30 minutes. You can purchase more then one 30 minute block if you wish.

For Reservations:

Reservations are not required, but firmly suggested. For reservations contact Bill Medlin at 570-473-5659, or by e-mail at wmedlin@ptd.net. We will do our best to accommodate persons without reservations, but we cannot guarantee anything, and people with reservations get priority, but if there is enough daylight and you are willing to wait, there is a good chance we will get you on the locomotive. Payment without a reservation is cash only.

About your fee:

All proceeds go towards the continued operations of 643, and the entire Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, which has recently made the venture to purchase the land that has been 643’s, and the entire association’s home, since 1960.
