I have Just learned that Don Wood, noted PRR. and other rails photographer, has passed away 5:30am. today from Prostrate cancer. RIP Don. Ed K cp Laurel Run |

I didn't know him, but have seen his work in many publications. Ranks up there with the stuff by Collins, Hastings, Nowak, etc. R.I.P. |

One of the few unparallelled photographers of the CNJ and PRR, who came to live in a time when historians needed his artistic talents painfully. Don set the standard to northeastern steam photography, and continued to love the Pennsy long after it was gone. If there is a heaven, let's hope it is filled with the Belpaired locos he loved, and plenty of Camelback 4-6-0's and Atlantics, all hot and steaming. Sic transit gloria. Thanks for everything, Don. |
