Apparently taken in 2000. Still extant? Possibility for one of the N&W engines at Roanoke?

That is a interesting question that you brought up.

Have any of those locomotives been moved out of the scrap yard?

I seem to remember that there was a time limit for moving the locomotives out of there?

And also was there any interest in the Diesels that were in there as well?

Hi Ted and Everyone else,
No the Locos have not been moved. There has been interest in the two Baldwins from other people.
Since all the equipment there was donated to the Virginia Museum of Transportation they are the ones to talk to.
As far as time limit, there is one but I dont really know how much is left on it.
The VMT isnt very forth coming about anything related to the Lost Engines.
Kinda like a Black Hole they fell into there.
Like every other person who wants to see them preserved from the scrappers as long as they havent been torched there is still hope.
Andrew
