Just curious, a question for any of you who are involved in maintaining the archives at museums. Do you know of any organizations that have preserved any surviving examples of the locomotive sales presentation kits that were issued by the locomotive builders to the outside sales people, for example the two sided cardstock presentations that had images and text on one side and the script on the other? These were used from the 1930s up into the early 1960s, sometimes in preference to 35mm slide presentations, since they could be carried in a folder and did not require any projector. They were phased out when overhead projectors became widely available, the last ones I recall seeing were issued around 1962. MX (not my real name) |
