[b]Mechanicsburg, PA[/b] -- [b]The Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association Inc[/b] will hold its [b]annual railroad & model train collectors show[/b] this weekend, [b]July 22-23 [/b]on the association’s show grounds. Admission to the show is $3.00 with all proceeds benefiting the restoration of PRR #643, a 1901 0-6-0 steam locomotive, and the purchase of the land used by the association. Food and refreshments will be available during the show, as will door prizes, model trains in all scales, antique and modern railroad collectibles, air horn demonstration, and other various railroad related activities. The show will be held from 9AM – 4PM on Saturday and 11AM – 4PM on Sunday. As a special fare, and celebrating its return from a five-year restoration effort, train rides pulled by PRR #643 will be available during the show. On Saturday, the train rides are scheduled to begin around noon. PRR #643 is the only operating Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotive in the world! Williams Grove is conveniently located near US 15 and the PA Turnpike. See directions below: [b]FROM PA TURNPIKE[/b] – Take the PA Turnpike to the Gettysburg exit and follow US 15 south to Lisburn RD. At the bottom of the off-ramp, turn right and proceed straight through the red light 1.7 miles to Williams Grove RD. Turn left at the red light at Williams Grove RD and drive 1.2 miles to the show grounds entrance on the right. [b]FROM SOUTH[/b] - Take US 15N and turn left on to PA Route 74 just north of Dillsburg. Drive 1.2 miles and turn right on to Williams Grove RD at the Exxon station. Follow Williams RD .8 miles to the show ground entrance on the left. [b]FROM EAST/WEST[/b] – Follow any route to US 15, and use the above directions. Carlisle residents may follow either Lisburn RD or PA Rt 74 to Williams Grove RD. |
