Hi all,

For everyone following the Wilkes-Barre scrapping story, two out of the four pieces elft somewhat intact have been tagged for preservation.

According to two newspaper articles (linke below) a local buff named George Spohrer has taken on the cause of fund raising to restore the side-rod Vulcan.

Also, the car locally known as Flagler, but historically Rock Island "Rockmarge" is also to be saved though plans are not detailed in the article.

That leaves the Erie "Ten Hundred" which may or may not be a good parts supply (trucks would seen to be valuable for other Ten Hundreds on the road still) and the ACL #253 which I have not lost hope for yet.

If you have any interest in these pieces, or wish to obtain parts from the cars built into the depot, the articles outline who to contact.

I am now going to write a note to the commisioners for responding so positively to the outcry from the railroad community. I know we had many voices reaching out, and apparently Mr. Spohrer came with a financing plan for the Vulcan.

Good news!
