Finally some sense to the insanity. Too bad their lawyers couldn't have thought of this before they gave the company a black eye.

Better late than never. I would support almost anything that will keep the UP steam program (and historical fleet for that matter) going. As anybody in the industry knows, this stuff is a money pit and I have the greatest admiration for Steve Lee for his ability to keep the fires lit. There is always going to be some bean counter that doesn't give a damn about history who will try to kill programs like UP's.

I would hope that having an officially dedicated source of funding will help to ensure the continuance of the UP's historical programs.

While UP has unquestionably acted in a heavy handed manner - by all appearances, at least they have listened and made a course correction.

I'm continually amazed that Steve Lee and his crew have kept the bean counters at bay all these years. Compared to that, repairing Challengers and 4-8-4s is child's play.
