Now that the agenda is out, curious about who's decided to head to the ARM/TRAIN Conference.

Thanks

Can't make it this year; don't have the leave or the scratch to do it on my own dime. My colleague Jeff Buchheit will be there to represent American Association of Museums.

I have not been to ARM or TRAIN since Spencer in 2001. Planning on attending this one.

Looks like a few of us from NAUG-RMNE will be there (two and possibly four of us). I have always wanted to see CSRM, and we'll try to work in a side trip to Niles Canyon/PLA, too.

Sure would have been nice to have some of the seminars repeated-- some of the "dirty-fingernail" gang also have an interest in things like marketing and grant-writing. It's been a minor peeve of mine that the seminar scheduling for these things (ARM and TRAIN meetings) presumes that one is either right-brain or left-brain...... Or maybe it's just a clever ploy to get more people from each organization to attend???

Our Museum (Minnesota Streetcar Museum) will have a good contingent at the meeting--at least five, not counting the RMQ editor.

Thanks!

My wife, Karen, my granddaughter, Megan, and I will be taking Amtrak to the convention. We will take the California Zephyr to the convention, then will ride the Coast Starlight and Empire Builder on the return trip.

Unfortunately, Orange Empire is hosting DWOT the weekend of the ARM-TRAIN conference. It is unlikely that any of our key people will be at the entire conference.

However, I will try to make it to some of the mid-week activities.

I've been going for the past several years. This year I'll be out of Country.

However, I do expect several from our Museum to attend. I know networking and finding out how others recruit young volunteers will be of interest t us.

A large contingent from TVRM will be attending. We're boarding Amtrak #5 in Chicago on November 4th for the trip out. I understand that many folks will from the Boone & Scenic will be boarding the same train that afternoon in Iowa. It's gonna be a large time. Marty, are you leaving on the 4th?

I have booked my room and will send off the registration packet soon. Looking forward to the pre-convention goings on at Bay Area. Hopefully I'll have a Brill 79E journal box pattern for show and tell.

Sorry, Mark, we're not leaving until Monday, the 6th. We'll miss the pre-convention trips, arriving in Sacramento Wednesday, the 8th. Karen's Dad's 70th birthday is Sunday, the 5th. She insisted that we not leave until after that.

Strasburg folks will be there. I think we will be on #5 on the 5th. Glad to see folks using AMTRAK.
