This site has some excellent late-1950s Canadian steam photos in color: http://bswitzer.railfan.net/randy_masales/ Use the "jump to page___" to go from page to page of thumbnails. There are three pages of CN steam, plus 11 of CP. I especially liked this one of a CP 4-6-2 in December 1959 at Lambton roundhouse in Toronto. Was that 1956 wreck the last major one in US/Canada involving two steam-powered trains? And two double-headers at that. Quite a mess, blocked a city street and collapsed a bridge, too. |
