Post subject:  new blood as TRAIN board candidate

Just got TRAINLINE and was pleased to see a young railroad businessman - Robert Pinoli - has thrown his hat in the ring as a candidate for the board of directors.

Two of the other three candidates have held board positions for over a decade - in one case for 24 years.

While I have nothing but respect for not only the individuals involved, but also for the value of institutional memory, i have to wonder if the continuing evolution of TRAIN as a viable professional organization might not be enhanced by encouraging a greater turnover? Or does TRAIN not need to evolve to remain relevant? Or is there nobody else representing the younger generation of railroaders interested in serving?

I may be concerned over nothing but I see a common thread mentioned frequently about appealing to younger generations, and wonder if we are not missing an opportunity here.
