It really was a terrific weekend. I don't recall ever seeing so many smiling faces, especially after the photo freight rolled by, and Julius (the station agent) exited the scene into the station...

Beautiful! This is almost the ideal for volunteer preservation...everyone having fun and fellowship while preserving rail history. Plus, and a big one at that, the effort really reflects the flavor of the place. I love it when the unique cultural identity of region can come out this way. by gosh, thats what I think of when I visiualize Maine.

I will also observe that it is no accident that the United Kingdom is covered in two foot (give or take) railways, it's a manageable size.

I have got to get up to Maine and see some Yankee narrow guage railroading!

Stephen, what an elegant job of documenting the WW&F! This film clip alone should put every railfan visitor to Maine on notice as to the treasure being reborn in the woods between Sheepscot and Alna. I particularly loved the sepia opening and ending to the film.
