Post subject:  gsmr 1702

does any one know if the gsmr 1702 will be ready anytime soon. the last i heard she was under going a major overhaul. also the 722 is being overhauled as well does any one know when it will be ready for service.

We are working on the 1702, very slowly however. Things look like they may break loose in the next 2-3 months, and we will be able to move forward much faster. I believe that spring of 2008 is the current goal for the 1702. The 722 is on the back burner until we can get the 1702 out.

what type of maintance is being done to 1702. i know most of the parts proably have to be fabricated since they are proably impossible to find.

The 1702 is recieving her 1472 day FRA boiler work. I am not sure of the details but I think there is a good deal of firebox work involved. I seem to remember Ryan Scott detailing the work somewhere but did not find his post on a quick search of this list. I may be remembering something that does not exist.

As of the not to distant past.....6 months+.....all but the crown was out. Don't know if it was to follow or not. Ryan?

is there any more news on the 1702...or the diesel fleet i think some are going to be repainted this year or next/
