Bel Del Steam Photo Freight - November 4th The last photo freight at the Bel Del was overall a sucsess. We had a number of antique cars and many different whistles to chose from. The probelms that arrose during the day have been discussed and will be corrected for future trips. Railfan weekend on August 19-20 went smoothly and was enjoyable for everyone. Pictures from these trips are able to be viewed on the link at the bottom of the page. The November 4th trip promises to be better than any previous trip. Antique automobiles, different whistles, late autumn leaves and several other surprises are planned for the event. Susquehanna #142 is scheduled to pull a photo freight roughly around a 9-5pm schedule with several nighttime hours dedicated to nighttime photography and runbys . We figured we'de take advantage of this and plan a later year photo freight. The trip will run from 11am-10pm with locomotive #734 and a 9-10 car freight consist. Two cabooses will be used to transport patrons instead of a passenger car. Runbys will include helmstetters curve, sunnyside, in tunnel shots and many more. We will have a Western Maryland Hancock 3 chime, Western Maryland 5 chime and several other whistles. Nighttime hours will have both nighttime photography strobe setups and runbys. We also have a planned "whistle off" at a echo chamber like location. If you have a whistle and would like to bring it with you, please let us know.
