Hi, It is about time for the Williams Grove steam fest, which I understand is still on despite the park being closed. I am thinking about heading out to get my son full of cinders and give him a taste of our PA German homeland. Any idea what the show will feature this year? Rob |

Well, PRR 643 is back together and running, for one thing. |

The show is definately on and as far as I know 643 will hopefully not only be running but freshly painted as well. At least that was the plan the last time I heard from anyone at the Grove. Frankly I have been so busy lately I have not had time to ask anyone how things were going. I would assume the show will include all the usual events featuring several traction engines and the boiler house as well as the railroad. There should be sawmill demonstrations as well as plenty of food, tractors, and probably tractor pulls. I wish I could go but I will be stuck in NC again this year. John Bohon |

Not just see, but do! As part of a fundraiser, the Railroad individuals have been offering an "Engineer for an (half)" hour" in which for $75 you can operate the locomotive over their 1 mile of track. I will be there this Saturday for my turn at the throttle. It is a noble cause with a great return on your investment! http://wghsea.org/default.aspx Mark |

The group is also in the early stages of a major fund raising campaign aimed at buying the land they are on. This is probably the best shot we have at keeping the 643 alive. If they have to move it is doubtful the money would be available to relocate the railroad. Please go to the show and support this worthy cause if you can. John Bohon |
