Post subject:  Steam Generator weights please

Our Southern Railway E8 at TVRM was originally equipped with two steam generators. They are both gone now. Does anybody have any idea what one of the steam generators would weigh??

Thanks.

The rule of thumb I've heard and used was 6,000 lbs. We always try and use that much weight when replacing one.

The ones being replaced at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant weigh about 380 tons each. Oh wait, you're talking about the kind powered by diesel fuel.

The dry weight of a Vapor OK-4625 is 4000lbs.
