Some 56 years after the ET&WNC narrow gauge quit, No. 12 is still running:

I found a bunch of good photos of the railfan thing they had there in early Sep. Lots of good shots of both locomotives. link is http://jreb.org/v-web/gallery/etnwc03

folks,

the mention of the #12 above brings to mind the series of postings back a few months, April or May that the Tweetsie Amusemunt Park's lease was up.

Did another long term document get signed or are they still living on borrowed time?

I think of the new managers at the Edaville, USA park who have managed to stay in business, but they have cut back the rail operations and retired the older equipment in the process.

Any news would be appreciated.

I think they signed another long term lease.

WARNING - THIS IS A RUMOR: I heard that another town in NC had actually offered to GIVE Tweetsie enough land to move the whole shebang. If true, this would certainly have been a pretty good bargaining chip for the park.

I was coming home from Maine when this year's railfan event occurred. I got some good pix last year, though.
