What a beautiful locomotive restoration. From the looks of the photo archive, she'll be in service for years and years to come. Congratulations guys, you have done something grand and wonderful. Is it too early to inquire if the 1278 is next into the shops? When might that be? glueck@saturn.caps.maine.edu |

I was at the Ohio Central about 3 weeks ago and 1293 was being stripped down for major work this winter. 1551 will be out of service for its 15 year inspection for a couple of years, so 1293 will be the main power out of Sugar Creek next year. robsterne@hotmail.com |

How truly wonderful to have this grand locomotive in such wonderful running condition right in my "backyard". And it would seem there are also more of them and some running F-units, as well. I checked out the website and was impressed with what I saw but one question still remains. Where do I go to get a look at these beauties and maybe take some pictures?I can't always make it to the places the excursions are taking place on the days they are happening. (I own my own business, puts a real crimp in things sometimes.)But I'd really like to get a look and converse with people that are familiar with the machinery.Love those steam engines but my first love will always be the E and F units, they're what I grew up with. Since I consider all of Ohio and parts of other adjoining states my "backyard", it sure is nice to know they're here. Just Train Crazy, -Angie Ladypardus@cs.com |
