 Post subject: Lafayette under steam

The B&O Railroad Museum did get the Lafayette out under steam this last weekend along with the St. Elizabeth Hospital tank engine.

It was a pleasure seeing the Lafayette hot, B&O had a really nice event. Impressive track work back by the new shop. They were running Lafayette at 80 pounds, rated for 90lbs. The crew was throwing lumps of coal in one or two at a time after getting down on their hands and knees to check the fire.

Guy sitting in the seat behind us with a Strasburg shirt on said, as the Lafayette steamed by "they could have sold those seats for $100 each," referring to those neato benches on the top of the "Maryland" and "Ohio" stagecoach/cars.

Crew said it was Layayette's first public outing since the roof disaster. Here's a video of the William Mason test run in August from the cab:
