FYI, Checked in the website of the Connecticut Trolley Museum and I see that they have now sold all 3 of their up for sale steam locomotives. A "RailStar Corporation of New York" was the winning bidder for the Alco 0-4-0T 5 and the Porter 0-4-0 fireless cooker 1. The much talked about (for its high estimated value of $500,000) ex-Moore Keppel & Company 2-truck Climax 3 is heading home to West Virginia. The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley (tourist) Railroad of Durbin, WV acquired it for a listed $200,000. The D&GV runs over the northern most portion of the former C&O Greenbrier line (a segment undamaged from the 1985 flood). Currently the railroad operates with a small Whitcomb switcher hauling bench-fitted flat cars and a caboose. The Climax will be a welcome addition--and a just a few whistle echos from the Shays at Cass!! Regards, Jim Robinson |
