BR 35027 Merchant Navy class Port Line looking tired at Nine Elms motive power depot in 1966:

It would go to Barry the next year, departing in 1982 for restoration in 1982. After a period of operation, it is again withdrawn for overhaul.

That's exactly how I remember them in service....
