By Alan Fearnley, such as this one (I think it is one of the A1 class such as they are presently replicating): http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... OnShed.jpg Or this one of the original Rainhill trials: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... inhill.jpg Or Princess Elizabeth: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... geHill.jpg Or a 9F on the Settle & Carlisle: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... rlisle.jpg Or the accelerating Duke of Gloucester: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... enBank.jpg Or the last-built steam for BR, 9F Evening Star: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... aworth.jpg Or the Furness Railway's Coppernob: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?m ... pernop.jpg The above are all preservation-related, but there are others on the ABPR for March 7, 2005. More by scrolling down here: http://abpr.railfan.net/abpr.cgi?/march05/03-07-05 Nice work that's worth taking the time to look at all the paintings. If you look at the ABPR with Internet Explorer, you can resize the pictures to fit the screen, which I have not been able to do with Mozilla firefox |

That is excellent work. I think "painterly" is the term that is used to describe the quality in that work. Great smoke and lots of spirit. It really shows the potential of railroad art. RTK |
