Hello all, What is the current disposition of the passenger cars that the Golden Gate Railway Musuem did not retain after being outsted from Hunters Point? Tom, i can help you with one item. The Petaluma & Santa Rosa #1 ex Southern Pacifi Thecaboose has gone to the Northwestern Pacific Historical society. THey have just finished an operational restoration of NWP #13. They have just started working on the car and I don't think it has been decided if they want to restore it to P&SR or Southern Pacific. SP 2397: Shasta Daylight coach. Owned by Pacific Railroad Society. Had been stored at GGRM. Returned to Southern California several years ago. Currently stored at Orange Empire Railway Museum. SP 3105: Sunset Limited baggage dorm. Sold to Phil Sheridan. Moved off property. Current location unknown. Amtrak certified. SP 3302: Pre-war baggage coach. Fire damage. Purchased by PRS at GGRM auction. Moved to PRS facility East LA, CA. SP 9021: Sunset Limited 10-6. For sale by private owner. Moved to Niles Canyon Ry. SP 9053: Blunt end 10-6. Was on loan to GGRM. Returned to California State RR Museum several years ago. Stored at Sacramento. Civic Center: Now on display at Milbrae, CA former SP depot. Montgomery Street: Said to have gone no bid at auction. May have been donated to a historical society who may not have money to move car. Could be available free to good home but must be moved soon. Could move on own wheels. |
