What tiny steam locomotive is this on the Catskill Mountain at Kingston, NY?

Well, I am stumped on this one; I don't have an 0-4-0 listed at this location. Neither does Doug Bailey on his steamlocomotive.info site; I don't have J. David Conrad's directories here at work. Maybe someone can shed some light on it's identity.

It IS tiny. And is that some sort of external dry pipe that can be seen running from the dome to the front of the smokebox? Maybe for an aftermarket front end throttle installation? Perhaps a tank locomotive with the tank gone?

It is a tank loco with the tank off, and I think it's a Davenport. The CMRR/ESRM people are planning to rebuild it as a non-tank "Forney" type loco. This info is according to photo captions on various web galleries of the stuff at Kingston.

It appears to be standard gauge; that would seem to limit it down to about two dozen engines, most of which are West of the Mississippi River. I am still not sure which engine it is. It would make a cute Forney when they are done.

The locomotive is Davenport c/n 370 listed on p. 129 of "The Directory" at Sergeant, PA. It is now owned by Earl Pardini, President of the Catskill Mt.

I believe this is the same engine that sat for years in front of a restaurant just northeast of Middletown , New York. The restaurant burned to the ground, but the engine and some other equipment (flat car) sat for years with trees growing around them. Then one day the engine and equipment were gone. I had heard they had gone to Kingston, but not until I saw these photos had I seen proof of it.

Thanks for the links and information. The Davenports I remember in Colorado had straight boilers, so the 1948 replacement boiler on this one is unusual. I'd seen this engine in listings, but never saw a photo of it.
