Below are links to two articles written by the late Carl Lathrop on the early history of the Catskill Mountain Railroad of Mount Pleasant and Phoenicia, New York: The first is from the September, 1983 issue of Gas Engine Magazine: http://www.gasenginemagazine.com/complete-archive/1522/ The second article is from the November, 1985 issue of GEM, about CMRR No. 1, the "Duck": http://www.gasenginemagazine.com/complete-archive/1771/ Both give a good feel for the early history of the CMRR. Both Carl Lathrop and Kent Reeves passed away in 1997. EH |
