A few months ago, someone inquired about a summary of the last steam operations for each railroad. I responded that the NRHS Bulletin had twice published such a report over the years---both by Lloyd Stagner. To date, I still have not been able to dig up those two issues. However...
I received a flyer today announcing that South Platte Press has published a book on Mr. Stagner's excellent research called "American Steam Finale." It sells for $19.95 + $3.00 p&h.
Order through: South Platte Press, P.O. Box 163, David City, NE 68632 or
trains@plattevalley.net
[Nebraska residents must pay sales tax, of course.]
If you've read Lloyd's other "...Steam Finale" series books, you can expect another winner with this book. It should update all his earlier historical research published in the two NRHS Bulletins plus add more photos.
This is not intended to be an advertisement , so much as just alerting RyPN readers to a valuable contribution to our knowledge of steam operations.

I am the production editor of the NRHS's Bulletin. If someone tells me the exact issues that this was published in I could probably dig it out of our archives and send a photo copy to you. Contact me offline at smith@drexel.edu.
