Former L&N U25B #1616, waybilled as a VLIX 1616, is reported to be on the NS railroad in VA headed to the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum in Oak Ridge TN. The engine should be near or in Knoxville Tn at the time of the post.

Anyone know what locomotives they have at Oak Ridge other than what is shown on their websight,it has not been updated for several years.Do they plan to restore their L&N Alco in the near future? It would be nice to see the U25B teamed up with the Alco, both in L&N as delivered paint schemes.

Last time I saw this locomotive, the main generator had been removed to use as a replacement for a Deleware-Lackawanna C425 that had a grounded unit. Did it ever get replaced?
