Short video of a former Astroworld Harpur-built narrow gauge 4-4-0 pulling a couple of boxcars on the private Pacific Coast Railway in California. Harpur engines were built in the 1960s by former Disney employee Bob Harpur for several amusement parks. It looks like they may have utilized some foundry patterns from the two original Disneyland engines, which were built new in 1955. Sounds like the engine was having a tough time on the grade, but has a ince whistle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTYZlVQ6UnI |

Those D&RGW boxcars are heavy with a long legged engine! Going up a 3%+ grade at that point although I had a train right in front of me as you can hear in the video that was holding me back. Whistle is from a Cab-Forward that was in the deadline at SLO and "borrowed". Jeff Badger |
