The Railroaders Memorial Museum in Altoona, PA is very pleased to announce the acquisition of the blunt-end observation car "Mountain View". Seeing duty over 3 decades as the tailcar, along with its sister "Tower View", on the Broadway Limited, this PRR classic has a new home in Altoona. Obtained as a result of a private/public partnership between the Commonwealth of PA (State Rep Rick Geist), the former owner, Mr. Kelvin Woods, and Bennett & Eric Levin, the car will be the jewel of the Museum rolling stock collection. It needs minor repairs and some sidesheet work, glass replacement, and paint outside with the interior being complete/original needing only light interior finish/paint touch up and cleaning. Fully AMTRAK compatible, the Museum plans to put the car back in excursion/charter service once it passes its current year inspection.
