I understand that there is a large steam locomotive on display on an Army base in Oklahoma. Does anyone know about this and what the locomotive is? |

It is Frisco 4-8-2 1526, at the Museum of the Great Plains, just outside Ft. Sill. I was there in 1971, but for some reason never got to the museum to see it up close. |

There is a large Frisco engine, 1526, sister to the 1522 on display about a mile south of Ft. Sill, at the Great Plains Museum in Lawton. Both Ft. Sill and the munitions plant south of McAlester, OK have operating railroads on the bases. Drake Rice, Secretary, Oklahoma Railway Museum, OKC. |
