| Post subject: | SS lansdowne updates?? |
Just wondering if anyone out there has heard anything new about the Lansdowne, and if she still sits somewhere in Buffalo. And with that, any word on the MILW cars still attached to it?? Is there an easy way to get a photo of it, or is it pretty much hidden behind an elevator. Just curious. Ken |

This pic was just posted on RP.net: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=177398 Using Windows Live Local, it appears she is located right here: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u45/scottychaos/lansdowne1.jpg (where I put the Red-X..unfortunately the aerial photo was taken *before* the lansdowne arrived) Which is directly across from Ohio street, a public road: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u45/scottychaos/lansdowne2.jpg It appears that parking lot directly across the river is fenced off.. but it looks like you can get to the river's edge to the north and south of that parking lot. Might even be able to access the river from the Ganson street side! (the side of the river the Lansdown is on) hard to tell though..probably also fenced off - posted. But looks like it should be fairly visable from Ohio street.. next time I am out Buffalo-way, I will check it out! Scot |
