Post subject:  GG-1 4913

Not sure how this fact when "unknown" or at least "uncelebrated" but the arrival of Broadway Limited observation car "Mountain View" at the Railroaders Memorial Museum led us to an interesting discovery. Many people were aware that "Mountain View" made the last westbound run of the all-Pullman Broadway on Dec 12, 1967. We were then informed of an interesting piece of Broadway history related to our GG-1. GG-1 4913 was already celebrated as one of the handful of GG-1s that wore the Tuscan and 5-stripe paint scheme as a result of its duty pulling the Congressional and Senator trainsets. We have now found out that it was the GG-1 who pulled the very last run (eastbound) of the Broadway Limited (all-Pullman version) from Harrisburg to New York on Dec 13, 1967. Just one more reason we can't wait to get 4913 finally indoors with the completion of our roundhouse in 2007 and giver her the restoration work she so sorely deserves.
