Post subject:  UK branchline question

The May 2005 pages of the ABPR have numerous photos of the abandoned St. Ives to Cambridge Branch. Most of the remaining buildings appear to be abandoned and vandalized, but some of the track looks to be still in place. Given the British tenacity to save things, I wonder if any groups have tried to save this line, which apparently was a Great Eastern Railway branch at one time?

They did try to get the service restored but the politicos had decided on a "mis"guided bus way - technology that has never worked properly and the buses also have to run on the streets - which in Cambridge are very congested............................
