With all the discussions about the status of NRHS, I have a question about ARM. We sent our membership app to ARM back in May, shortly after moving our first peice of rollling stock onto the property. In Mid October our treasurer emailed them to see what the status was due to our check never clearing the bank. Well, come to find out they made a photo copy of our check and put both the copy and original in our file. No big deal, as that seems like a simple mistake to make. However, we were told they would deposit the check the next day, our membership packet was mailed in July and our convention info was mailed a few weeks befoee the reply. The check just cleared in late November and we have yet to see anything from ARM. Are they all volunteer or is there a paid staff? Has anybody else had similar issues dealing with ARM? Thanks Bill www.haleytower.org |

ARM has been volunteer staff for the time being. However, they put out an RFP for organizational services a few months ago and said that they wanted to have paid help in place by the end of the year. The board and staff has done a lot of great work over the years, but hopefully they can hand it over to paid persons before too long. I heard that they were holding off on issuing the renewal notices too to let the new person do it. I heard a lot of the discussion on this at the ARM-TRAIN meeting but nothing since. |

Thanks for the info Andy. That sort of sheds some light on things. I do appreciate it. Bill |
