Post subject:  New WW&F-related video

Hi Folks,

Well he's done it again!

Dedicated WW&F videographer, Steve Hussar has posted his latest video production on-line for all of us to enjoy.

There are some who said it couldn't be done. Capturing a bunch of WW&F and Albion Historical Society volunteers working their magic is one thing. But capturing the world's only talking bull and getting Carl Buitta's voice on tape at the same time ... a myth you say, an urban legend!!!!

Nay I say, 'tis true!

Grins and Best Regards,
Glenn

Post subject:  Consider what's happening here:

Most historical projects are local, spurred and staffed by the "little old ladies" of the local or regional historical society. They usually involve gathering a bunch of artifacts from the old days to display in an old house, school building or depot. Seeing one is pretty much seeing them all, though they're often still fun to visit.

Projects like the WW&F, the Sumpter Valley, the C&TS, the Nevada Northern and others, however, draw people from afar, to donate their time and often their money to saving, restoring and even rebuilding history that is not their own. There are not many other fields of interest where volunteers are involved that can claim that. The Civil War reenactors donate time and money, but seldom restore infrastructure like the RR people do. Steven's WW&F video that made it to PBS showed this unique project to good advantage and I think doing more along that line with public TV could help our cause.
