New/old pickups from scratch. .

This is an interesting project, and it is unclear whether the pickup shown is really new manufacture or an old one that has been hot rodded, with plans to build new ones still in the process. I find it hard to believe that such a truck could be built for $55,000 in the USA from new components and make a profit. I do think you can get quite a few new parts for Model A and T Fords, almost enough to make one from scratch, with some scrounging. I lost interest in hot rodding at about age 14 (turning some of the rarer antique cars into street rods could be considered vandalism), but it will be interesting to see how this project turns out.

Also of great interest is how this company is bucking the trend of putting a Chevy motor/transmission in all street rods. My kind of company! I forecast it will not sell because of this use of the Ford running gear. They will eventually change to Chevy in order to stay in business.

On a related note, there is a firm who has been re-popping 69 Camaro tin for a while and has begun to offer a complete shell.

IMHO, it would be a bit easier to build a replica diesel loco (a DL109 for example) than a steam locomotive.
