Was this an original turntable or relocated here? I understand there is a roundhouse also. Is that original or new for the K&K? If relocated, what is the history and length of the turntable?

In the mid-1970s Sloan Cornell bought this 50' turntable sight unseen and had it shipped to his operation at the Gettysburg RR, where it was stored but not used. He then moved it to the Knox & Kane by 1990, where it was installed and lengthened to 60' long, five feet being added to each end. It came from the Boston & Maine or Maine Central and was built in 1886. Alan Maples may be able to add some details, and anyone else is welcome to help provide details or better dates as well.

I presume this was built new by Sloan Cornell?

The Knox & Kane Marienville "roundhouse" was actually a renovation of an old foundry building.
