Boy, that ol' girl had a great personality. I have never liked her all dolled up with the diamond stack, but to each their own I suppose. I have a lot of good memories from that engine!

Somewhere, I think in the briefs, we had a photo of it in fire train service on Donner Pass, but I'm not sure if it can still be accessed.

While I doubt that the SD9 survived, both steam engines are still around. 1765 sits outside the Lomita Railroad Museum in Lomita, CA well cared for.
