In Vancouver, 1927. The 4-6-2 is long gone, but part of the building was completely dismantled, then rebuilt to seismic standards for Expo 86. It was utilized for other than railway history, however. I've read CPR 4-4-0 374 has finally been put inside in recent years. I presume the turntable is the same one still there. http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... rchive.jpg |

Can anyone tell us how long the turntable is at this site? Or when it was built and by who? |

Not entirely sure if that turntable was not replaced. Here is the 374 on the current one: http://www.steamlocomotive.info/vlocomo ... splay=1843 This 1929 photo also says Drake Street. The table is somewhat longer: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... rchive.jpg Another photo from 1928, but not much seen of the table: http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... rchive.jpg From 1932. This one looks like the shorter table. Were there two? http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... rchive.jpg |
