Bob -

A genuine USRA 2-10-2; much modified by the Missabe. She is a beautiful locomotive that looks MUCH different on display without her Elesco feedwater heater. Always curious why both of the donated DM&IR Santa Fe's had their Elesco feedwaters removed. Someone once told me that it was so the railroad could use them on other engines if necessary but this makes no sense as dieselization was well along at this time. Plus, if the Elesco's were a detriment to a display engine, why not donate one of the 2-10-2's that DIDN'T have them? Oh well, one of the unanswered preservation questions.

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas!

Les
