Just wondering about that ex-KCS tender that IRM got from Northwestern Steel & Wire. Did it come from a 2-8-0 like this? If not, what kind of engine? http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... kcs492.jpg |

http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?j ... kcs492.jpg Bob - I believe we touched base on this subject some time back. The tender is off of one of the KCS's 2-8-8-0's and, if I recall correctly, still carries the number 759. What's interesting about this particular tender is that the KCS, in order for the 2-8-8-0's to fit on existing turntables, moved the rear set of trucks in from the end of the tender a number of feet. Hopefully, she still had this very unique feature. Perhaps Bob Kutella, or someone else from IRM, can confirm the locomotives number and also if it has yet been moved to Union. Les |

That tender has not yet been moved to Union, but is intended to be part of the core collection so is not for sale or trade at this time. Over the years some friends of the tender have done cosmetic work in painting and it does or did display the original number. Bob Kutella |
