I found this Flimsies piece funny. A developer, who was responsible for the destruction of an old trolley carbarn where new housing will go, has named his project Trolleybarn Townhomes. So far, they have left the arched doors to the front of the old building. And already, residents are complaining about noise from the railyard next door...

We had a similar situation in St. Albans years ago, where there was a movement to save the old 1860s-era CV motive power building (where the actually built locomotives at one time). Eventually, all was demolished except the brick archs of the front doors, which a bulldozer "accidently" backed into, making way for a new supermarket.

Reminds me of a street name out here in the Rochester, NY suburbs..

farmland/forest was bulldozed and scraped clean for yet another suburban housing tract.
the developer actually had the gall to name one of the streets ""Everwild Lane"

amazing.
