With the 80th anniversary of the famous Seaboard Air Line train, I poked around and found a few sites connected with it.

Note that co-author Chubby Wise played fiddle for Hank Snow for many years, usually with some sort of train inference in the songs. Rouse and Wise apparently were inspired to write the song by the new streamlined version of the train rather than the earlier steam-powered version, though the song definitely evokes a steam locomotive, not the blatting diesel horns of the day. You might get a little tired of hearing the electronic version of the song on the above websites, which is also heard on several RR websites.
